Love Me Do.

9 Feb

Today I popped into Liverpool to see couple of my lovely friends I met in South Korea. I always enjoy my little trips to Beatles land. In fact I’ve been to the Beatles museum enough times to not really require the head phones and narrative any more.

Here are a few s from our drink in the Cavern pub and visit to the Tate gallery where they had some ace stuff on show. Yes, that second one really is a s**t load of bread with bodies bitten out of it.

There you go then, that was ‘A Day in the Life’ of me. We’ve been very busy recently, zooming up and down the country seeing our loved ones before we flee the country again. I really am a ‘Day Tripper’; an awfully tired ‘Day Tripper’. And tomorrow we are heading up to Scotland for a long weekend. ‘I’ve Got a Feeling’ it’s going to be amazing. Catch you all when we’re back.

P.S- Sorry for all The Beatles references. I’m done now. Over and Out. ‘Hello, Goodbye’.

I Went to Another Place.

8 Nov

Being outshone by a cast-iron naked man, eh? Let me tell you, it sucks.

In this instance I will let it slide though, because it’s not any old man. Oh no no no. It’s Anthony Gormley; an awfully famous and talented fellow. (Yes, I said ‘fellow’…) 100 of his cast iron figures face out to sea on the beach of Crosby in the North West of England. They create a piece of art formally known as ‘Another Place’, and we went for a little jaunt down to see them. (Yes, I said ‘jaunt’)*.

It’s getting a bit chilly here, and I’m not going to lie, my old winter coat won’t fit if I am wearing anything thicker than a t-shirt under it. I took off my extra two cardigans to take these pictures, because I am not sure wearing 7 layers is a good look for me….

* You might have noticed I have aged about 60 years since my last post. I have been going to sleep before 10pm and I think the jargon stems from 11 hours sleep a night.

The Dream.

21 Oct

OK, so there’s no hidden agenda behind the title of today’s post. You know how usually I’m so insightful and manage to slip in some quip or double meaning? A witty side note? In my dreams. Well, not today.

Anyway. Today we went to see this piece of public art not far from where we live in the North West of England, and it’s name is ‘The Dream’. I’d only ever seen it from the motorway before, and was almost positive it was just a giant cock pee-pee. I’ve heard this said before, so it ain’t just my dirty mind guys. Once we got close up though, I realised it was a giant head. A very surreal looking sculpture of a head.  And I was impressed.

I thought this outfit looked rockin’ when I saw it in the mirror this morning, but after seeing it on film I’m not so sure. I think I look a bit stumpy, and I blame the boots. Not my height, oh no no no. Definitely those boots. It also seems I’ve given a brief revival to the ‘underwear-as-outerwear’ look that might not be seen again. You live you learn though, eh? Tomorrow I am going to Birmingham to see my football (or soccer) team, Aston Villa. And on Sunday I am going to meet my boyfriend at Heathrow Airport after almost two months apart. I will only hit him over the head and call him an idiot for almost going to the wrong airport after an hour has passed. Yup, that’s how excited I am to see him! Is everyone glad it’s Friday? What are you doing this weekend?
